Alan is highly experienced, having previously worked on executive boards for two of the largest global pension firms, Mercer and Towers Watson.
A highly respected member of the pensions industry, Alan helped the government during the creation of NEST (the National Employment Savings Trust), the national pension scheme set up to help smaller employers, and firms with low-paid employees, to meet their pension obligations under automatic enrolment.
In January 2021, he was co-opted from the Pensions Management Institute’s advisory council as non-executive director and appointed chair of the board. He has previously served on the PMI's board since 2016 - and was re-elected to serve a second term on the institute's advisory council in December 2020.
As well as Atlas, Alan also holds prominent roles on other large pension scheme trustee boards which he runs concurrently with Atlas.
When Alan isn’t at work, he likes to read, travel on holiday to experience different cultures (including the food!), watch Formula 1 and rugby, and see his family, who are scattered across the country.
