Make a plan to keep control of your finances
Having a plan in place to manage your money doesn’t just help with your finances, it can also make you feel more in control and less anxious.
This time of year can be hard. Sunlight levels are low, overspends from the holiday period can mean extra bills, and it can be easy to start feeling gloomy about finances and the future.
Rather than hiding under a blanket though, take some time to look through your finances. Work out what you have, what bills you’ll need to pay (both regularly and as one offs) and see what you have left over for other items. You can then make a plan so you feel more in control of your money.
You can take the same approach with your pension saving too. Find out what you have already saved by logging in to your account at portal.hartlinkonline.co.uk/atlasmastertrust. Work out what you might need by using the budget planner, and then when you look at your other finances, you can weigh up if you can, or should, be saving more for retirement at this time.
