Putting past pensions into Atlas

08 December 2021

While you’re connecting with your pension account – whether by logging on to the new portal or checking out your annual update – it might be a good time to think about whether transferring other pension savings into Atlas is right for you.

If you’ve had more than one job, it’s more than likely you already have more than one pension. If you have been working for many years you may have many pensions with different insurance companies, pension providers or past employer’s schemes. Did you know you can transfer these old pensions into Atlas? Whether you are an active member (you/your employer make regular contributions) or a deferred member (you no longer work for the Company you joined Atlas with) any money you transfer in will still benefit from the lower charges you already pay.

The process is simple. There are some forms to complete to let us know the details of your past pensions, but a little bit of paperwork now could save you some admin in the future.  To find out more about transferring other pensions into your Master Trust account you can access the form via the member portal or download a ‘Transfer In Member Authority Form’ from your employer’s section of the Atlas document library.

Before transferring you must make sure your old pensions don’t have any valuable guarantees that you would be giving up and the Trustee would always recommend you seek independent financial advice if unsure whether a transfer – whether that’s into or out of Atlas - is in your best interests. If you don’t have a financial adviser, you can find an authorised one on the Financial Services Register or on the www.unbiased.co.uk website.
